HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY MINI-GRANT PROGRAM:
At the June and July Board meetings the board decided to apply
for a Neighborhood Mini-Grant offered by the Hillsborough County Board of
County Commissioners (BOCC). The grants
are made available to strengthen neighborhood associations and the communities
which they serve. Applications must be
submitted and grants in the amount of up to $5,000 will be awarded to those
communities who show a need and desire to improve their community. Most importantly, we need to demonstrate that
we have active resident participation.
In that regard, we had 12 people sign up at the Board meeting to
volunteer time to assist in installing picnic tables, central area bulletin
boards and a landscaping area near the main pool. This project is planned between November and
March. If you would like to join the team and volunteer
some time to assist with this project, feel free to stop by the clubhouse office
and sign the Volunteer Commitment Sheet.
You will be asked to provide your name, phone number, e-mail address and
the number of hours you would like to volunteer. You can accomplish this while you drop off your assessment payments over the next two weeks.
We would like to thank the BOCC for this opportunity and we
are hopeful that Plantation will be selected as a grant recipient. All recipients will be notified by November
30 if they have been selected. Let’s
